WYE Valley triathletes headed out west last weekend for the renowned Long Course Weekend in Tenby.
The three disciplines are held across three days, with competitors able to take on the 2.4 mile Peakes Swim on Friday evening, followed by the 112-mile Uprise Bikes Wales Sportive on Saturday, which takes in a full lap of Pembrokeshire, and the Cyrocube Wales Marathon on Sunday.
Other races include the LCW Half Distance, which includes a 1.4-mile swim, 80-mile bike, and the Wales Half Marathon; competitors can choose either standalone events such as a shorter bike course, or the Coastal Cottages Wales 10k run.
Monmouth Tri Club members who enjoyed a haul of medals included Sharon Neville, Andrew Howells, Luigi Frigé, Julian French, Katie Peters and Tori Baker.
Jak Smith, Claire Jackson and Arron French also completed the full course to earn the coveted fourth medal, which symbolises competitors’ endurance – a true achievement as only half of the 1,000 athletes who start the challenge on Friday evening cross the line on Sunday afternoon.
Monmouth Tri Club offers weekly swim sessions, regular social rides and a running group for anyone interested in triathlon?
