A LOCAL author has announced a book signing event following the launch of her new sequel ‘ Flying Solo’.

Carole Smith from The Forest of Dean, is holding a book signing of her new book ‘Flying Solo’ on Saturday April 4 at The White Horse from 12pm – 2pm.

‘Flying Solo’ is a sequel to her previous novel ‘Lucks Wood’ about a family who move from Birmingham to The Forest of Dean and how they settle into the area. ‘Flying Solo is a follow on from this, diving into the family’s relationship after a husband and wife split up, highlighting an important message of - what to do when suddenly everything changes.

The community attending will be able to see a collection of Carole’s new book as well as one’s she has previously written, whilst being able to have their copies personally signed.

The author said she is expecting a really good turnout after one she previously held in November was successful to celebrate the launch of another one of her novels.

One inspiring part of Carole’s books is they make references to the nearby area. In ‘Flying Solo’ it includes mentions of Monmouth, highlighting the importance of the local area, whilst allowing residents to feel connected to what they are reading.

“I’ve always been very determined that my books are accessible to people,” said Carole.

The book signing, taking place at The White Horse Inn is a restaurant, so it opens an opportunity for people to get there book signed and call in to socialise and get something to eat.

Having written nine novels, Carole’s passion for writing and storytelling is demonstrated through her well-curated literature, inspiring those who also share the same interests and developing new ideas from those who want to learn.
