CALDICOT theatre group are bringing to the stage a ‘Songs We’ll Never Sing’ concert featuring musical numbers from world renowned shows.

The concert is taking place on Saturday March 21 at Caldicot Choir Hall at 7pm but doors open at 6.15pm. The choir are bringing lively entertainment to Monmouthshire residents and the surrounding area, singing musical songs with a twist.

The show has decided that instead of traditional casting they are going to be featuring songs they would not normally be cast to perform. This includes a number from Chicago, to women performing hits from Jersey Boys.

More of the musical numbers will be sung from shows including: Les Misérables, Moulin Rouge, Grease, Miss Saigon, Hairspray, The Colour Purple, Memphis, and Newsies as well as many more.

Caldicot Theatre Group are a community based amateur group with members aged 11 and upwards putting together performermances with a range of talent and experience. The theatre group usually puts on two or three productions each year, including a full-scale musical, whilst performing and taking part in an array of events and organisations to raise funds so they can keep doing what they love most – performing.

The theatre group take part in rehearsals on Monday evenings in Caerwent and they welcome new members both on stage and behind the scenes.

The society was founded in 1925 and gained charitable status in 2018 with a determined aim of highlighting education, inclusivity and their passion for performing arts in Caldicot and the surrounding areas.

The theatre group have also recently announced their next full production to be We Will Rock You at Caldicot School later in the year.
