Raglan Parc Golf Club Seniors rounded of a successful season with regard to their friendly matches winning their last match by six-and-a-half to one-and-a-half last Monday (22nd October).

Captain Stuart Bradley heaved a bit of a sigh of relief after a difficult season caused by the weather, ensuring that several matches had to be re-arranged.

"Everyone seemed to enjoy their matches during the year and I would like to thank all those who played and for accepting the alterations philosophically," he said.

The match was particularly memorable in that Richard Phillips had to play on his own but still beat his opponents seven and six.

Other winners were Stuart Bradley and Brian Lewis, Ron Thomas and John Scannell, Ray York and Paul Murphy, John Duthie and Mike Bruce and Gerry Pugh and Brian Jones.

The final half point was secured by Gwynne Jones and Jim True.

Thanks to some quick re-organisation by Don Jones the captain's awayday, which could have been lost to the weather, was re-arranged at St Mellons Golf Course in Cardiff.

Competition for prizes was fierce with four people tying for second place but in the end the trophy was taken by Peter Perrett with a score of 35 points.

Stuart Bradley thanked all those who supported the day and everyone, winners or losers, had an enjoyable day.
