Chepstow Town Under 14s continued their resurgence in the East Gwent Juniors League, by thrashing Caldicot Town 6-1 in their first game back into the New Year.

Ben Thomas (pictured) opened his and Chepstow's 2014 scoring account with a close range header.

Thomas made it 2-0 shortly after his first, with another headed goal.

A debut strike by new recruit Kyle Taylor from 20 yards out was a strike worth any place in the club's Goal of the Season vote on the stroke of half-time.

Caldicot Town came out fighting after the interval and pulled a consolation goal back, only minutes after the restart.

Thomas added his third and Chepstow's fourth midway through the second half after some good work from Ethan Dunscombe.

Harry Thorne added a fifth with 15 minutes to go, following a pinpoint through ball by Thomas.

Al Stephens had a goal ruled out for offside, shortly before Thomas bagged his fourth and Chepstow's sixth of the afternoon.

The away side's midfield players, Harry Martyn, Reg Bynon, Ollie Hayes, Ethan Dunscombe and Al Stephens controlled the middle of the park, matched by a commanding defensive display by the back line of Rhys Brooks, Louis Bibby, Charlie Price, James Maris-King and Ellis Roberts.
