EX-MONMOUTH School rugby player Hallam Amos has been replaced in the Wales World Cup squad after dislocating his shoulder during the Welsh victory over England on the weekend.

The match, which won Amos his fifth cap for Wales, also saw both Scott Williams and Liam Williams getting stretchered off, meaning that the Welsh side have now effectively lost an entire back division.

A scan on Monday revealed the damage to Amos’ shoulder, and the situation is being monitored by Wales’ Medical Team. His injury means he has been added to a long list of injuries including Leigh Halfpenny, Rhys Webb, Cory Allen and Eli Walker.

Scott Williams and Hallam Amos are to be replaced by experienced utility back James Hook and New Zealand-born Gareth Anscombe, who were both part of Wales’ Rugby World Cup training squad and featured in warm-up tests ahead of the tournament ahead of the clash against Fiji tomorrow, 1st October.
