Overmonnow Primary School were very proud recently when three Year 6 pupils, Katie John, Kirsty Maylin and Serena Natt, won a trophy and gold medals for becoming the best Under 11s Girls (Novice) team, for the second year in a row, with a combined score of 125.4 at the Welsh Schools Trampoline competition which was held in Cardiff on Sunday 25th November.

The school also managed a third place in the same event with Year 3 and 4 pupils Miah Natt, Jessica Maylin and Cara Natt.

The teams presented the trophy and medals to Headteacher Huw Williams in a special assembly at the end of term.

Katie, Kirsty and Serena have now qualified to compete in the Zonal Schools Trampoline competition to be held in Wales in January against the top school teams from West Midlands, East Midlands and Eastern regions.

The girls all train at Monmouth Trampoline Club.
