Double Olympian and London 2012 Olympic Bronze Medallist for the GB Hockey Team, Crista Cullen, spent the afternoon at Inglefield House, preparatory school for Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls.
Crista arrived wearing her Stella McCartney track suit, with her Bronze medal around her neck and, at six feet tall, she looked every bit the Olympic athlete.
The girls at Inglefield House stared in amazement and listened intently to an inspirational presentation about how this summer, a girl from Kenya became an Olympic medal winner.
Hearing 60,000 people cheering for Team GB, playing hockey against some of the best players in the world, and standing on the Olympic podium, made 10 years of highs and lows worth it for Crista. After a question and answer session with the girls, Year 6 were then treated to some hockey coaching from the Olympian.
This experience taught the girls that with sheer determination and hard work you can achieve your dreams and many of the girls at Inglefield House now aspire to one day become Olympic athletes.
Ciara Shackleton, a Year 6 pupil at Inglefield House, was inspired by Crista's self-belief.
"Her coach said that she would never make it to the national team, but she did, and she never gave up," she said.
