Ross Ladies travelled to Gloucester and came away with a 1-0 defeat despite halving the majority of possession.
When the Monmouth-based team arrived at Gloucester the heavens opened and the wind was blowing that hard that the shelters on the side of the pitch were lifting up.
The team braved the elements and were very unlucky not to get anything from the game. Everyone fought really hard but Ross just couldn't convert.
With changes in the team from the win against Newport two weeks before, it took Ross time to settle which allowed Gloucester to get the upper hand and score an early goal.
Despite this and the horrendous weather, Ross kept the pressure on and the ball travelled from end to end.
The defence of Kim Calland, Kate Handley, Kath Jessup, Gill Badham, Holly Belcher worked hard through out the game making Gloucester work hard to even make it into the D at times.
The well cleared ball up the field gave the midfield of Vanessa Ball and Louise Cross the chance to drive the ball towards Gloucester's D.
The midfield of Beth Ralph, Vanessa Ball, Louise Cross, Harriet Stenner Georgie Taylor-Jessup continued to push Ross forward up to the D.
Despite numerous short corners in the first half, Ross were unable to find the back of the net. The first half finished with Gloucester in front by just one goal.
Ross seemed to find their feet in the second half and continued to press forward as a team, despite the fact that at times there was only half the width of the pitch being used. Becky Pass was unlucky not to score on numerous occasions.
With Charlie Yemm working hard in goals to ensure that Gloucester were unable to find the back of the net again.
This was a game which Ross should have won. The possession and play at times were fantastic and it was just due to the skill of the Gloucester keeper that Ross didn't come away with a win. Joint players of the
