USK Town were celebrating a first Gwent Premier 2 win of the season after holding on to beat Riverside Rovers 4-3.
The Green Army led 4-0 with 15 minutes of normal time left, Ollie Rudall (36, 45+1 pen) adding two to Dylan Howard-McCabe’s 29th-minute opener and Gene Gurie scoring the fourth (55).
But it proved 'squeaky bum time' as Rovers hit back with strikes on 75 minutes, 78 and 90+2 until the ref blew for full-time to end the tension for the hosts.
The win lifts them level on points with Pontnewynydd, but they stay bottom on goal difference.
Table mates Thornwell R&W had a more comfortable end game though, storming into a 3-0 lead before 20 minutes at home to Trinant and adding three more after the break.
Ieuan Evans fired them 1-0 up after nine minutes before Toby Prettyjohn added two more in the next 10 minutes.
They had to wait until the hour mark for Alfie Sessford to add a fourth, but he then added his second from the penalty spot on 76 minutes.
And Prettyjohn completed the thumping win securing his hat-trick two minutes into stoppage time, with victory leaving them third and Trinant's woe completed by a red card.
Meanwhile, Gwent Central One Llanarth beat Crickhowell 2nds 2-1 at home thanks to an 87th-minute winner from Shane Davies, after Josh Phillips had levelled an earlier own goal on 33 minutes, with the win leaving them fifth, two places above the visitors.
But Usk Town 2nds were on the end of 6-0 hammering away to Gwent Central 2 leaders Pontypool Town, also leaving them fifth.
Usk Town host Croesyceiliog Athletic on Saturday (October 10), while Thornwell R&W 1sts entertain Aberbargoed Buds and Llanarth are home to Panteg 2nds.
