FOUR goals in the first 26 minutes saw Rockfield Rovers trailing 3-1 at home to East Gwent One leaders Caldicot Castle before finally losing 4-2 on Saturday.

Jehroame Edwards fired the visitors 2-0 up with strikes on 11 and 22 minutes before Mark Johnston responded four minutes later.

But Edwards went straight back up the other end to bag his hat-trick and restore Castle's two-goal advantage, which is how to stayed to half-time.

Joe O'Brien secured the points for Caldicot with a penalty five minutes from the end of normal time, but Rovers then won a penalty of their own in stoppage time, dispatched by Marcus Crisp.

Tablemates Chepstow Town 3rds were downed 8-1 at Underwood, a goal on 57 minutes providing the sole consolation.

But Raglan Juniors fought out a comeback 3-3 draw at home to Underwood 2nds to sit second in EG2.

Jimmy Boulter put the hosts 1-0 up after six minutes, before the visitors missed a penalty right on the end of normal first half time only to level seven minutes into stoppage time.

Underwood then went 2-1 in front on 77 minutes and added a third just three minutes later.

But never-say-die Juniors weren't done yet, Greg Powell pulling one back on 86 minutes.

And Boulter proved the hero three minutes into stoppage time firing his second to snatch a last-gasp point.

Elsewhere, Usk Town 2nds moved up to third in Gwent Central 2 with a 3-1 win at home to Pontnewynydd 2nds, a Louis Quinton penalty and two goals in three second-half minutes from Aled Burkitt securing the victory.

Meanwhile, their 1sts are still searching for a first win in Gwent Premier 2 after a 3-2 home loss to Croesyceiliog Athletic, Griffin Morgan and Oliver Rudall bookending the visitors’ strikes.
