CHEPSTOW Town fired five first half goals at home to Cwmbran Celtic to high five it again at the top of the Ardal South East League.

A 5-2 win saw them on top by three points, although the three teams below have two games in hand.

Captain Nathan Rose opened the scoring after just six minutes, and three goals in seven minutes then effectively ended the game as a contest.

Josh Parsons doubled the hosts' lead on 25 minutes before turning provider for Chris Ham just two minutes later, with Sonny Lewis making it 4-0 on 32 minutes.

A shell-shocked Celtic then found themselves 5-0 down when Ham bagged his second in first-half injury time.

Daniel Camaj did give the visitors something to cheer about, reducing the arrears right on half-time.

And they responded after the interval and scored the only goal of the second half through Terry Obeng just past the hour.

Elsewhere Usk Town secured a point with a 1-1 midweek home draw with Riverside in midweek, Oliver Rudall levelling five minutes from time, but remain bottom of Gwent Premier 2 after a 2-0 home reverse to leaders Rassau & Oak on Saturday.

Redbrook Rovers kicked on with a 2-1 North Gloucestershire Premier win at Longhope though.

Six one-on-one saves by the hosts' keeper kept them in the game, but Zak Morgan fed Jake Teague with a superb through ball on 17 minutes for the opener.

And Callum Wilding having fired five in 18 minutes on his debut continued his remarkable start to make it 2-0.

Longhope responded with a 20-yard half-volley deceiving an unsighted Redbrook keeper before the break for 2-1, and pushed for a leveller in the second period, but Brook held firm to take the points.

Four goals from Dan Bodenham also helped Redbrook 2nds pummel Longhope 2nds 6-1 at home in NG3, backed by goals from Ashley Lewis and Robert Evans.
