Monmouth Town's young footballers took part in a youth and junior tournament at Monmouth Comprehensive School last weekend.

Youngsters from the Under 6s through to Under 14 level competed against teams from Usk, Cardiff, Undy, Ross-on-Wye and Cwmbran among others.

The tournament took the form of 12-minute 'mini football' matches between the teams at each age group, with the highest-placing older teams (Under 12s, 13s and 14s) playing semi-finals and a final to determine a winner.

Monmouth Town believe the tournament to be the biggest of its kind in Wales, featuring 2,000 children representing 230 teams.
