EIGHTY four from Ben Sidney-Jones helped South East Wales One leaders Chepstow 1st XI to a 42-run home win over Radyr on Saturday.
The hosts racked up 292-9 off 50 overs, with the opener forming a 128-run first-wicket partnership with Scott Bailey before the latter was stumped for 61 off 84 balls.
They then reached 175 when Sidney-Jones holed out 16 short of a ton, having fired 12 fours in a 100-ball knock.
Aaron Jones and Harry Hughes continued the momentum taking them to 241 when the former was caught for a quickfire 66 that included three sixes and six fours off 60 balls, while his partner went on to make 42, firing two sixes and two fours.
Radyr's batsmen reached 96-1 and 162-4, but the hosts' attack bottled up the run flow, Josh Tregaskes taking 4-41-10, Bruno Chitnis 3-26-4.4, Lewys Jones 2-44-10 and Ben Hope-Bell 1-36-5, as the visitors were dismissed for 250 in the final over.
But Chepstow 2nds lost by five wickets away to Usk 2nds in SEW3 after being dismissed for 139 in 42.1 overs, tailenders Jonathan Huws and Ellis Davies with 28 and 21 top-scoring.
Luke Watson then took two wickets, and Malith Madurasinghe and Josh Powell one apiece alongside a Raahi Kumar run out as the league-leading hosts reached 141-5 in the 40th over.
A magnificent 114 off 79 balls from Charlie Harkins, including three sixes and 15 fours, helped fire Chepstow 3rds to an 85-run home win over Whitchurch Heath 4ths though, as they scored 291-8 off 40 overs.
Dan Tylor with a blistering 62 off 46 balls that included three sixes and nine fours shared a 124-run opening partnership with the centurion, while Harry Harkins added 35.
Scott Williams and Harkins then dismissed both openers for ducks (3-2) before the hosts bowled the city side out for 206 in 34 overs, both taking two wickets, and Max Hunt scooping 3-25.
