A YOUNG golfer played exceptionally well in the USkids Irish open on July first and second at Mount Wolseley golf club.

Taio- Blake Burkitt played solid golf in Round one, finishing at +1 to take a one-shot lead.

Day two was a great battle with his playing partner Cillian. Taio was leading by four shots going into the 4th hole, but after missing the green and make a bogey, Cillian birdied and the momentum shifted.

They were tied heading into the closing stretch and remained level through the 18th, which meant a playoff.

After two playoff holes, Taio holed a 12-foot birdie putt to secure a win.
