HABERDASHERS’ Monmouth School recently welcomed local businesses, organisations and community partners to its Senior School for an evening of networking and collaboration at its inaugural “Championing Monmouth Together” event.

The event was inspired by a feature in the Autumn/ Winter edition of School House magazine, a sister publication to Country and Town House, which highlighted the diverse range of independent businesses, producers, cafés, restaurants, shops and attractions that contribute to Monmouth’s unique character and thriving local economy.

Recognising the importance of these partnerships, the School invited representatives from local businesses to come together, celebrate local success stories and explore opportunities for future collaboration.

During his presentation, he shared statistics on employment, economic impact and the many ways in which the school supports and engages with the wider Monmouthshire community.

Speakers at the event

Becky Wilkins, Director of Marketing and Admissions at the School, provided an insight into the international market, demonstrating how Monmouth’s unique blend of heritage, community and natural surroundings is a key factor in the School’s appeal to prospective families from across the globe.

The evening’s guest speaker was Rowan Moulton, Food and Beverage Manager at The Royal George, Tintern, who gave an engaging insight into the hotel’s growing reputation as a hospitality destination and the important role local businesses play in supporting one another and attracting visitors in the area.

The event generated lively discussion, with attendees exchanging ideas, sharing experiences and identifying new opportunities to strengthen connections across the town and surrounding region.
