A CAMERA-SHY worker at Overmonnow Garage in Monmouth has been praised for everything he has been doing to help customers during the coronavirus pandemic.
Ian Long’s dedication and hard work on the station’s forecourt during these unprecedented times prompted one of his customers to get in touch with the Monmouthshire Beacon.
The customer who alerted the paper to Mr Long’s work explained: “He has been working every day on the frontline since the coronavirus outbreak, making sure the public are kept safe.
“He has been providing disposable gloves around the pumps, amongst other things, without concern for himself.”
She added: “He is a character well-known in Monmouth who brings a smile to every customer he comes across.
“He helped people out through this crisis which goes beyond his normal job at the garage.”
The customer, who gave her name but didn’t want it published, tried to get a photograph of Mr Long, but he was too camera shy. She did manage to take a few shots of him in action though.

We had several offers of people offering to do shopping or pick up presciprtions or even deliver this newspaper.
Thanks to Rebecca Park, Sue Baker, Robert Hatton and Louise Green.
We’ve passed on your details to Peter so he will be in touch.
