AN EVENT billed as the UK’s biggest lifestyle festival that brings together people from around the globe for a weekend of laughter and friendship has come to an end.

The secretive ‘swingers’ camp set up in fields near Trellech made national headlines with both the Mirror and The Sun newspapers running reports on the three-day sex festival.

It is claimed 700 people descended on a field outside the historic village for what can be described as a sharing sex-fest where jelly fights and foam parties shared top billing with wet t-shirt competitions and other steamy sideshows.

A three day-ticket for couples cost £180, £150 for single men - who had to be vetted - and just £100 for women. But tickets were hard to come by and very few locals, if any, had the chance to join in.

However, all that was left on Monday morning (25th July) were a few teepee-style tents and a large deposit of bin bags, overwhelming the large skip that was left there by organisers.

In 2015, the festival was held in the Forest of Dean, and with this year’s event close by in Trellech, it seems that the quiet tranquil lifestyle tag that Monmouthshire is so famous for is attractive to more than just those seeking quality of life and a good education.
