AN upcoming Careers and Higher Education Fair is coming up soon at Monmouth Comprehensive School, inspiring students as they begin navigating their future.
The fair is set to take place on February 4 between 5.45pm-7.30pm where students aged between 16 and 18 can see an array of opportunities they could follow. Students from other schools across the region are also welcome to attend.
The fair will take place in the school’s atrium and main hall where hundreds of students will have the chance to engage directly with a diverse range of exhibitors, including prestigious universities, local colleges, leading apprenticeship providers, public service organisations and representative from other industries.
This event comes at a crucial time for young people, with the job market and higher education landscape evolving very quickly, the school is committed to ensuring every student is equipped with the knowledge to make informed, confident choices on their journey.
“We are thrilled to be hosting this event once again,” said Hugo Hutchison, Headteacher. “Our goal is to move beyond brochures and websites. We want students to have real conversations with professionals and admissions tutors to ask the ‘difficult’ questions and discover pathways they might never have considered.
“It’s about showing them that the future isn’t just something that happens to them; it’s something they can actively shape.”
Visitors can expect a bright and welcoming atmosphere where university admissions specialists will offer advice on UCAS applications and course selections, while local businesses will showcase the growing range of high-level apprenticeships available in the region.
For many students, this direct engagement they get from this fair provides a vital “lightbulb moment” which connects current studies to a future career pathway.
Monmouth Comprehensive School invites all students and their families to make the most of the event. The fair will be able to provide some inspiration and information they can take with them moving forward.
