The Christmas spirit lives on in Monmouth with a sleigh of Santas adding a dash of colour to a grey Sunday morning in Monnow Street.
The annual Spirit of Monmouth Santa Fun Run saw 340 runners of all ages take to the street and raise money for the running club’s chosen charity, Quest Busters, a Bridges Charity Project that support families with children with additional needs.
Quest Busters are in particular needs of the funds this year as they lost a lot of their equipment in the flood sadly. A Quest Buster family were there with staff to start the race off with the bell from the Bridges Centre and the whole team are delighted to have been chosen as the recipients of the fundraising.
This year’s Santa first over the line was Will Lodwick, with Lily Cornish hot on his heels, and third Santa home was Zack Mason.
Their wooden finisher’s medals and biodegradable ribbons not only celebrate their accomplishment but also reflect the club’s commitment to sustainability. With entry fees supporting local charities, including past contributions of over £1,600, every step runners take helps make a difference in our community.
