Motorists are being advised to plan ahead as a series of temporary traffic restrictions are scheduled across Monmouthshire for telecoms, drainage and highway works.

A section of Ravensnest Wood Road, Tintern, was closed on September 24 from 9.30am to 3.30pm to allow BT fibre cabling works. The closure affected a 130-metre stretch south of Forge Road, with diversions via the R94, B4293, Devauden Road and The Cot.

Further works are planned on Chapel Lane, Pwllmeyric, on October 1 between 9.30am and 3.30pm. The road will be closed between Chapel Close and Orchid Meadow for cabling and gully works. Traffic operatives will be on-site to assist residents and visitors.

Meanwhile, R113 Usk Road at Pen Y Cae Mawr will be closed from October 5 to October 9 for highway drainage repairs.

A temporary 40mph speed limit will also be introduced on the R106 at Llangybi on October 6, between 8am and 5pm for MJ Quinn poling works.
