On Sunday, 19th June the Old Monmothians Cricket Club, kindly supported by the Old Monmothian Club, won the toss on a damp pitch against Gloucester Gypsies at the School Ground and decided to bat.

Despite a fast paced start from openers Lawrence Cronk and Greg 'flash hard' Fury, a constant fall of wickets hampered the Monmouth innings as they failed to build any substantial partnerships.

Even a rare appearance from the mercurial Matt Phillips failed to lift the score, and despite a battling 22 from new OM Josh Grey, Monmouth barely made it to the lunch interval as the OMs faltered to 97 all out with Park taking five for 35 for Gloucester Gypsies.
