MONMOUTH Cricket Club have slipped to fourth place after a heavy 159-run defeat at Worcester Dominies in the Worcestershire County League Division 2.
The early pacesetters were put to the sword at Evendine Close as Dominies piled up 329 for seven on a scorching afternoon last Saturday.
Jonathan Jones (44) and all-rounder David Teague (43) batted well for Monmouth but Paul Swingwood's men were shot out for 170.
The lively Sajid Ali (five for 53) was Dominies' leading bowler and helped to inflict Monmouth's third successive reverse.
