A Monmouth woman has been charged with committing benefit fraud.
Patricia Ann Matthews, 65, of Clawdd Du, is alleged to have falsely claimed £42,457.90.
There were five counts read against her at Caerphilly Magistrates Court on Thursday 6th May.
Charges include four cases of false representation to claim benefits and one for dishonestly claiming from the Department of Work and Pensions.
Matthews failed to declare that she was living with her husband.
She did not enter a plea and is due to appear at Newport Crown Court on Friday 11th June.
