SIR,

May I bring to the attention of our local community the two letters which have now appeared in the Monmouthshire Beacon, one from Stuart Fletcher, the chairman of the Welsh Ambulance Trust, and the second from our Minister of Health and Social Services, Lesley Griffiths AM, reassuring us with respect to the retention of our ambulance station, ambulance vehicle and ambulance service in Monmouth.

I would like to draw to the attention of our Voluntary First Responders the comment contained in our Health Minister's letter.

This now should reassure them that the actions they take in attending to any casualties will be covered by the Welsh Risk Pool Services within the parameters dictated by their training when responding to requests from the Welsh Ambulance Trust.
