SIR,
Why have I not seen or heard any reference to the fact that the Labour party's biggest financial supporters are the trade unions?
This is particularly relevant at the present time because the trade unions are amassing support against the Government's stance and the country's need for a dramatic reduction in public spending.
This applies very much in Wales because of the high level of employment in the public sector here.
It is my considered opinion that the Government should be looking at ways and means of encouraging and supporting all methods of training for a diverse range of job opportunities and any ways of new job creation utilising the new skills achieved.
The Government should also stop all payments to trade unions, individuals or the unions themselves, as these payments are all out of the public purse which has to be ludicrous.
The other, I feel, relevant item is the bridge toll on the Severn Bridge, which is surely a tax on all entry, public and commercial, business or pleasure, to the detriment of business and leisure encouragement in South Wales.
