The Lower Wye Ramblers invite you to join them on Sunday 4 May for a 10-mile moderate-plus walk (grading based on distance and two significant climbs) starting at 10 am from Wilton Road car park off the B4260 between the A40 and Ross town centre (Grid reference: SO 59272 24003 Nearest postcode: HR9 5BJ what3words: slap.rebounds.heartache).

From the car park, we will take the Wye Valley Way south through the streets of Ross on Wye before emerging at the base of Chase Hill and taking a steep incline to the top and then on to the site of an old hill fort. The views across Ross and the countryside beyond are beautiful. We will descend the hill and walk across to Penyard Park, where we will get majestic views of the countryside to the south of Ross. Another steep climb through a beautiful tree-lined gorge will then lead us back down to the initial steep incline and back through urban Ross to the start point.

Please bring drinks, snacks, and a packed lunch with you and wear suitable clothing and footwear for the walk. For further information and contact details for the walk leader, go the group’s website (www.ramblers.org.uk/lower-wye; it is always advisable to look on the website on the morning of a walk to check for any last-minute changes [e.g. cancellation due to weather, etc.]).
