CATHERINE Fookes MP for Monmouthshire has launched a new Community Hero Award to celebrate individuals who make a difference across Monmouthshire.

Residents across Monmouthshire are invited to nominate other residents who they believe deserve recognition for their contribution to the local community, whether through volunteering, campaigning, fundraising, supporting local groups, or simple acts of kindness.

Catherine Fookes MP said: “Monmouthshire is full of incredible people who quietly make a huge difference to the lives of others every single day.

“Whether it’s someone who volunteers their time, supports vulnerable people, raises money for good causes, campaigns to improve their community, or simply goes out of their way to help others, I want to hear about them.

“Too often these people don’t receive the recognition they deserve, this award is an opportunity to celebrate those individuals who make Monmouthshire such a wonderful place to live.”

Residents can nominate a local hero by completing the online nomination form. All nominees must be Monmouthshire residents.
