Saturday's planned 'friendly' against Tredegar Ironsides failed to take place when the visitors were unable to raise anything approaching a representative team. Spectators who turned up had the consolation of seeing instead the Youth XV, who despite being soundly beaten by an, on the day, speedier Croesyceiliog, will have been impressed by their never-say-die nature and some distinct 1st XV stars in the making. Next week their elders are back on SWALEC League duty away at Rhymney while the Druids are set to entertain Pill Harriers on Chippenham, with both teams kicking off at 2.30pm.
