GWION Edwards, a trainee with the Pre Academy run in Monmouth by Julian and Jeff Seymour, has been called up by Welsh boss Chris Coleman to play for the national team.
He attended the pre-academy for 4 years during which time he had trials at Manchester United and played for Walsall.
At the age of 17, he was signed by Michael Laudrup for Swansea City as a full time pro.
Julian said of the young star: "Gwion was a great talent and showed us a great work ethic.
"He has fantastic, committed parents which made for a really good all round successful package.
"As well as training with us on Mondays we both worked extensively with him during the week.
"Its a little bit different for him now training with Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.
"We are very proud of his achievements."
The 21 year old will be back at the Pre Academy after Christmas with fellow
former trainees and pro players Stu Fleetwood and Aron Davis.
Julian continued "We hope Gwion's success will inspire our currant trainees."
Now playing for Crawley Town in the Football League Division 1, Gwion has his sights firmly set on helping Wales qualify for the 2016 European Championships which are set to be held in France.
