USK continued their league programme against one of the table's struggling sides, after playing the two leading teams in previous weeks in which they were unlucky to be narrowly defeated.

Trefil fielded a very heavyweight pack and in the early exchanges Usk tried to match them. As the game progressed Usk started to expand their game and Joe Edwards made an explosive break that sliced the Trefil defence to score the first try of the game. Ollie James duly converted to give Usk a 7-0 lead.

Soon after, while on another run, Joe Edwards pulled up with a leg injury. However, this did not deter Usk and towards the end of the half Andy Peginton darted over for Usk's second try. Ollie James again converted to give Usk a 14-0 half time lead.

Early in the second half Trefil were successful with a penalty and this was to be their only score of the game.

Usk proceeded to show superb handling and passing skills throughout the side and ran in a further 4 tries and Ollie James was successful with 3 of the conversions.

The second half try scorers were Gareth Whittingham, Ben Papp and two from Andy Peginton.

The final score of 40-3 did not flatter Usk as it was a thoroughly deserved win with excellent performances from the whole team.
