Monmouth Under 19s got off to an almost excellent start when Luke Cleaves put a sumptuous ball into the penalty area but unfortunately the keeper somehow managed a point blank save that proved a costly missed opportunity for the town.
This was the theme throughout most of the first half with the Dinas keeper pulling off some excellent saves.
Town were caught on the break and some sloppy defending saw Dinas going 1-0 up courtesy of an own goal by a miss-judged clearance. 10 minutes later another defensive error gave Dinas a penalty which they gladly converted to make it 2-0.

Town played some nice passing football during the second half and had the majority of the possession.
Monmouth continued to pile on the pressure for the last 20 minutes and some excellent balls were put into the danger area but a lack of accurate finishing and some more great goalkeeping kept the score line at 2-0 to the visitors.
On paper this was always going to be a tight game as Dinas are just below Monmouth in the league.
The U19s' next game is on Sunday (24th March), at home, against Caerleon.
