Two Monmouth School pupils have swum the length of the English Channel for charity.
Twins Oscar and Charlie Parkman raised £798 for the Savitri Trust, a charity engaged in fighting poverty related, curable blindness in India.
The brothers, from Ledbury in Herefordshire, completed 21 miles – the official length of the Channel – between them during their half-term break from school.
This entailed daily visits to the pool at Monmouth School Sports Club and a total of 672 lengths each, averaging more than 80 lengths each day.
The 14-year-olds thanked their generous sponsors in Monmouth, Ross, Ledbury and BGC Partners in London, as well as their classmates, for helping them reach their goal.
