TAEKWONDO student Nikkita Miller has returned from her first martial arts competition with two silver medals.

The 18 year old travelled to Swindon with instructor Tom Baxter and supporters of Chepstow Taekwondo for the English Championships.

Nikkita entered two disciplines – patterns and sparring – and came second in each competition, beating rivals from all across Britain.

She narrowly lost each of the finals, having performed extremely well throughout the preceding rounds.

Tom Baxter said: "I am extremely proud of Nikki's success and am over the moon that the amount of hard work and training she put in has resulted in such success.

"To perform at such a massive event and to come away with silver medals at a first competition is such a huge accomplishment.

"I am sure that Nikki will go on to achieve great things in her Taekwondo and know she will be chasing the gold at the British Championships in November."
