The Great Narth Run takes place on Sunday 22nd June in Maryland Woods near The Narth. There will be a fun run for everyone aged nine and over; a 5k race for over 11s; and a 10k race for the over 15s. The fun run starts at 10.15am, the 5k and the 10k start together at 11am. All the races are off road on forest tracks. This year there will also be men's and women's team races with cash prizes for the winning teams. This will be the second year the event has been held. Last year's men's 10k race was won in a remarkable 36 minutes 26 by Monmouth runner Huw Evans. Emily Pardington from The Narth won the women's race in 45 minutes 55. The aim is to provide a series of races that will appeal to runners of all ages and abilities, and provide a safe and enjoyable day out for runners and spectators alike. And to keep everyone fed and watered before, during, and after the races, there will be hot and cold drinks, and cakes courtesy of the WI.
