A ROYAL Dean Forest Cycling Club cyclist who lies in third place in the Western Cyclocross league has won another race.

Jared Linden is going from strength to strength in the Bristol based Western Cyclocross league after he won again last weekend, leading the senior men home at the Oldbury Court event. Jared lies third overall as the season approaches its last couple of rounds. In the veterans category, Ant White also lies third overall in the series.

Entries are now open for The Wild Boar Chase, which takes place on Sunday 15th May. The Wild Boar Chase is a popular MTB ride in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley with the choice of 21, 26, 40 or 45 mile routes. All the organisers and helpers on this event are volunteers. After the Wild Boar Chase in 2015 the Lions Club were able to award more than £15,000 from the event’s proceeds to worthy causes in the Forest of Dean.

Regular club rides on Sunday mornings continue through the winter. Anyone interested can come along and try a ride with the club. Rides start at 9:00am from Parkend every Sunday, alternating with MTB and road rides. 9am junior rides are run by the club’s youth section. All are welcome of all abilities.
