Monmouth Netball Club held their end-of-season AGM and presentation evening celebrating a successful season all round with a meal at The Misbah Tandoori in Monmouth.

Chairman Sally Price was pleased with the performance of all three teams, with all seeing an improvement as the season went on and looking back at the previous season, all aspects of the club saw a big improvement which is vital to move the club forward.

The club held a successful mixed netball tournament in the summer of 2011, were part of the Monmouth Carnival, secured new sponsorship deals from local companies and purchased new kit going back to the Monmouth Town colours of blue and yellow.

Monmouth First Team finished the season in third position in Division One of the SE Wales Netball League, narrowly missing out on promotion to the Premier Division but captain Emma King is confident that next season will be their season and the Premier Division is within their reach.

MonOnes came runners up in the Wye Valley League and captain Tracey Hodgson was very happy with her team's performance as they had a turbulent season but came together as a team to finish strong.

MonToos improved on their performance from the previous season, finishing in 8th position in the Wye Valley League, and captain Sally Price felt that all her players gave 100 per cent, thoroughly enjoying playing competitive netball.

The Player Of The Year and Clubman awards were voted for by every member of the club at the end of the season.

The Player Of The Year Award is for the most outstanding player within the club across all three teams and was awarded to Rebecca Price, who played for Monmouth and MonOnes.
