Rugby club members rounded off a spectacularly successful year with a Dinner Dance at Monmouth School, where they were entertained by the famous Wales International, British Lion and now TV celebrity Scott Quinell, who concluded the formal part of the evening by presenting the various awards and trophies individuals had earned.
After an excellent meal, club president Rex Tabb proposed the toast of 'The Welsh Rugby Union' well tinged with a touch of sadness because of the death of two life members in the past 12 months: Malcolm Young in 2011 and very recently, Bernard Davies.
Scott responded appropriately and with fulsome praise for the 1st XV success as Champions of Swalec Division 5 East.
