Monmouth Lions recently donated money to Monmouth Cricket Club towards the purchase of winter practice nets for use by their youth team.

The club enjoyed considerable success last season and it is their hope that continued winter training in the nets will help further their achievement in the coming season.

Past president Peter Davies is pictured handing a cheque to Ian Morgan, vice-chairman and welfare officer for Monmouth Cricket Club.

The Lions Club wishes to thank all those who kindly supported their annual Christmas collection for food parcels, which raised nearly £450.

Working together with Rotary, the British Legion and the Masonic Lodge, Lions provided 25 of the 104 parcels distributed locally.

The club would also like to thank the managers of Waitrose and Co-Op in Monmouth for permitting members to collect outside their stores.
