THE entry list for competitors of this year's running of the Wyedean Forest Rally was filled up in just ten days.

165 cars have been entered into the event which runs on stages through the Forest of Dean on Saturday 14th February.

One of the first to put their name down was five-times MSA Asphalt Rally champion Damian Cole with his Ford Focus WRC.

The Monmouthshire driver has a busy season lined up with the defence of his Asphalt Championship along with entering the Gold Star Championship of the REIS Ravenol BTRDA Rally series – of which the Wyedean Forest Rally is the opening round.

Others confirmed include 2007 winners Hugh Hunter/Andy Marchbank in a Subaru Impreza WRC, 2012 victor Charlie Payne in a new Fiesta and the Focus WRC of last year's runner-up, Paul Bird.

Although all the starting slots have been taken up, as the opening round of the season, it is expected that a number of machines will not make it to the start line as preparation times prove too challenging.

With this in mind, there is a reserve list so spectators are almost certain to see all 165 cars flying through the forest.
