HARRY Hughes, a Year 6 pupil at The Grange, Monmouth, and resident of Wyesham, was delighted to learn last week that he had been selected to play in the under-11 Welsh Cricket squad.

The squad consists of 15 other boys from all over Wales and was chosen after many trials held at The National Cricket Centre, situated at the SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff.

Harry, a top order batsman, plays his cricket at Newport Cricket Club and, since the age of 8, has also represented Gwent Young Cricketers.

This summer Harry will represent Wales against Yorkshire, Lancashire, Warwickshire and Surrey in what will be a very tough and busy season for the 10 year old.
