MATHERN manager Colin Jeffery has predicted newly promoted Villa Dino can earn promotion after seeing his team beaten 5-3 by them.

After a second defeat, the first being a 2-1 loss in a rearranged match against Spencer YBC, Jeffery believes the disbanding of Cromwell FC has been a major factor.

“We’ve had some good results against Cromwell and it’s sad to see them fold but Villa Dino and Spencer have signed a number of their better players.

“I believe it’s a financial thing and it appears Villa Dino are paying all their players so I think they will finish in the top two places this season.

“We gave a good account of ourselves in both matches but we should have Lewis Cutajar, Elliott Greening, Matty Board and Alex Watkins available again.”
