The evening commenced with a Scrum Ready powerpoint presentation at the clubhouse from WRU coach development officer for Gwent Nigel Way.
This was followed by a practical session from women and girls officer Gwesyn Price-Jones, former Welsh international and community coach Lloyd Burns and WRU participation officer Chris Cornford.
Rugby apprentice Scott Matthews from the Dragons academy was also on hand to assist.
The session dealt with issues and techniques surrounding core stability and scrum profile. Both coaches and players were taken through a series of new and innovative skills and drills.
47 coaches, staff and players attended and the evening concluded back at the clubhouse with a Q&A session conducted by Gwent Dragons community rugby manager Greg Woods on our current pathway structure and the game in Wales.
Lloyd Davies, chairman of Monmouth RFC, said: "We are delighted with the suport that we have received from the WRU Dragons coaching team over the course of the past 24 months.
"We qualified a further 10 Level 2 coaches this summer at the newly-accredited WRU training facility at Monmouth Leisure Centre.
"We now have the most qualified coaching set up per age group in the region, which is great news for rugby players in the area.
"The Dragons Cpd events are always excellent and the players and the coaches very much appreciate the effort that they put into each session."
