South East Wales Cricket League Division One - Chepstow (205-6) beat Miskin Manor (188 all out) by 17 runs

CHEPSTOW First XI skipper Jason Dobbie carried his bat on Saturday, scoring 101 to help set promotion-chasing Miskin Manor a target of 205 to beat.

And when the visitors began their chase, Dobbie struck twice early on to remove both of their opening batsmen ending with 2-14 and four maidens in his 10-overs spell.

Dobbie’s partner Gareth Ansell made 38 but only Oliver Thornhill (14) and Luke Watson (13) managed double-figure scores as Chepstow posted 205-6.

Watson chipped in with two wickets but Tudor Morgan-Huggett took 3-29 in his nine overs as Miskin Manor slumped to 188 all out.

In the return encounter, Chepstow seconds’ match at Miskin Manor was abandoned with the home side on 77-3.
