MONMOUTH Cricket Club will be starting their preparations for the new season with indoor nets for senior players from the start of February.

The club will be running nets for 10 weeks at Monmouth School Sports Club in Hadnock Road from Thursday, 4th February.

The weekly sessions will run from 6pm to 7pm and are open to past, present and prospective members keen to be involved in the town’s senior cricket club.

In April, the club will move outdoors to train for the first time in their newly-installed practice nets at Monmouth Sports Ground.

Monmouth will be fielding two Saturday senior sides in the Glamorgan and Monmouthshire League Division Three after narrowly missing out on promotion last summer.

The club are looking into the possibility of running a third senior team but would need commitment from new and existing players and parents of youth members to make it possible.
