The Pony Club Championships took place on 16th-19th August, at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire by kind permission of The Marquess of Cholmondeley.

The organisation of the event is a joint collaboration between The Pony Club and Musketeer Event Management (MEM) headed by Alec Lochore, Eventing Manager at the London 2012 Olympics.

The four-day Championships enjoyed equestrian sporting action across the three Olympic disciplines of show jumping, dressage and eventing, as well as mounted games, polocrosse, centre equitation, musical ride, horse and pony care and for the first time, endurance.

Competitors from Monmouthshire's Area 10 of The Pony Club enjoyed success across the disciplines, starting with Tara Anderson, aged 11  from Triley Fields Equestrian Centre, who came first in Section A of the Centre Equitation Competition, sponsored by Windsor Partners Ltd. Tara also received the prize for 'Best Newcomer' in her section.

In the Equest and Equest Pramox Open Show Jumping the Monmouthshire Branch team of Gabrielle Baldock, 18; Gabriella Bligh, 16; and Charlotte Price, 16; picked up the Horsemanship Award, for the team who show promise of talent, ability and effectiveness.

In the Open Individual Show Jumping, Gabrielle Baldock proved her worth further, placed second individually riding Rooney VI, but also picking up the individual Horsemanship Award for the second year running.
