The first Monmouth Challenge Aquathlon took place last Sunday (27th July). Competitors took on an open water swim in the Wye followed by a run alongside the river. The event, organised by Monmouth Tri Club and sponsored by Jewel Balti, gave adults a choice of challenges if the full 2km swim and 10km run were too much. There were also smaller events for youngsters, with the swimming taking place at Monmouth School Sports Centre. Full results in next week's Beacon.
