Monmouth played the first round of the Carruthers Cup at home on Saturday 1st May.

Unfortunately, the opponents were the first division Whiteheads from Newport.

Monmouth managed to hold their opponents until half way, but then the away side took over and coasted to an easy win, Monmouth losing by 25 shots.
