Monmouth RFC under 10s (The Bears) took part in the inaugural Croesyceiliog Young Rugby Festival, searching for their first silverware of the season, taking on four very competitive teams in what would turn out to be a hard, but successful day of rugby.

The strong Bears squad needed to be at the races early on, as they opened proceedings with the first game of the day.

Match 2: Monmouth Bears 10-5 Blackwood

A long day of rugby saw the Bears victorious, with them winning all four games, thus seeing the mighty Brian Rowlands go up to collect the tournament trophy.

Scoring 16 tries and conceding only three on the day ensured this age-group maintained their proud run of bringing at least one piece of silverware home each season since their inception, to adorn the club-house trophy cabinet.

A superb effort from the boys saw the player-of-the-week award presented to the whole squad. All the players were magnificent on the day and Cameron Ogilvie, Josh Lewis, Sam Hughes, Rhys Williams and Will Green also played key parts in the Bears' success.
