The annual charity Boxing Day match up of women in football kits and men in drag this year raised cash for an appeal to help a six-year-old Monmouth girl.

Chase Vaughan has cerebral palsy, which affects her movement and mobility. Back in August her mum Helen Morgan started raising money for an operation which will change Chase's life forever, but costs £40,000.

Thanks to support from the whole town, the Big Wish For Chase appeal has so far raised a staggering £17,038.48.

The football match, thanks to a collection organised by Brian Bond, raised £445.15 while boxer Crissy Higgs signed copies of his calendar and donated the profits to Chase, raising £360.

Emily White bravely shaved off her hair for the cause and has so far raised £175. Red Door Deli donated £100 after selling mince pies and mulled wine.

Monmouth Rugby Club collected for Chase at their Boxing Day game and with the help of Sophie Vaughan, who also raised £650 doing a sponsored walk, the club were able to donate £350.
